Umarex Beretta PX4 Storm Reviewed

Having contemplated on getting a co2 pistol for sometime now I finally decided on choosing the Beretta PX4 Storm. A lot of my decision was based on price and the novelty of the blowback system on this pistol. I have read a lot of different reviews on the pistol and one of the common thoughts are it's poor accuracy. Even so I wanted a fun gun so I decided for the price why not.
I picked mine up for under $100 cad with taxes at Lebaron Sports shop.
The packaging was nothing special, blister card packed etc. The gun itself looks nice.

With it's metal slide and polymer frame, the pistol feels very solid in your hand. The gun's fit and finish overall is well done. It's weight is not heavy but solid. The sights are fixed with white dots of quick target aquisition. ( Ironic as the actual accuracy on this thing are not great)

The safety is on the right side of the pistol and requires the user to first pull back the lever then flip it up. What looks like the safety on the slide is just for looks unfortunately, however they do act as a good grip point when racking the slide back.

The pistol is equipped with and accessory rail to attach perhaps a light or laser as per the shooter's choice. At some point I may add a laser just to see if it will result it better accuracy.

Okay now onto the shooting part. Firing this gun is first of all fun. Fun because it mimics the blowback action of a real steel pistol. I didn't find it loud per say, but it's not quiet. It gives the shooter a decent kick when firing. I found the trigger to be the strangest I've encountered however. When you squeeze the trigger, it is actually moving the pellet cylinder to the next round, so it feels like your switching on a light switch. The final stage of the shot is smooth enough. If you fire the pistol without a magazine inside the whole trigger action is what you would expect normally.

I've read that the pistol doesn't have a decent fps so I went straight to shooting light pellets on the chrony. I got what I find to be decent results in a blowback pistol.

Using Gamo Raptor pellets I achieved these results.

433.2

445.8

437.6

436.5

426.3

416.2

424.2

422.4

Avg 430.275 fps

Using Beeman laser on the same powerlet I got

404.8

400.4

394.2

389.1

379.5

Avg 393.6 fps

So as far as fps goes using light pellets I feel give decent results.

Accuracy however is where the pistol falls short. At my 17' indoor range I was surprised to see how poorly she performed.

Above with Daisy wadcutters ( which I did not chrony)
Results with Beeman laser, look at the bottom shot!! I was shocked at the gamo raptors as they were everywhere! I thought them too dangerous to use as you just could not predict where the POI would land.
I can compare the accuracy of the Umarex Beretta PX4 to one of my airsoft gas blowback models, though in fact my we 1911 yeilded much better results with the same shooting circumstances.
These findings are from my first trial of the gun. Perhaps with a little more shooting I may be able to get decent groupings. That said the gun definitely is a fun gun to shoot, though in time may prove to be just plain frustrating to use if you cant hit what you're aiming at.
Thanks for looking.
